present a release party for Mercury
the new CDEP by

The Changelings

Monday, January 10th, 2000
The Velvet Underground - 508 Queen St. W. - Toronto
NO COVER - 19+

The Changelings are an Atlanta based Ethereal ensemble with a sound both innovative and timeless. Influenced by Baroque and Romantic composers such as Bach and Pagannini as well as Middle Eastern and tribal music, they blend East and West into indescribably beautiful soundscapes. Their songs range from traditional Hebrew prayer chants to intricately crafted violin and harpsichord driven waltzes to pounding dance club mixes of trance inducing ragas. Their unique chemistry and intoxicating sound creates an atmosphere that is both mysterious and sensual.

The new Changelings EP, Mercury, features three new tracks as well as a remix of "Maelcum's Righteous Dub" from thier 1998 album Amphibian.

The Changelings will NOT be appearing at this event, but we'll be giving away copies of Mercury as well as posters and stickers, and Changelings music will be played throughout the evening. Evol Mondays resident DIE! J MARS will be spinning the latest goth, ethereal and synthpop, and special guest DJ (and birthday boy!) GREG CLOW will open the night with a special ambient set.
